BEANARTS HAS MOVED!
I've been planning and wanting it for years, but now I decided to finally ACT on the desire.
I have now moved from the sleepy, dreary and uninspiring town of Dandenong, which, if you live in Melbourne Australia, you'll know it's up there with the likes of Frankston as one of the least desirable towns in Melbourne.
I now live in Richmond! Although it has it's little share of undesirable things, mainly a commission housing flat up the road and the occasional yelling in the side lane way, our apartment is actually rather cozy and quite safe behind it's multiple security entries.

The last few weeks have been filled with packing, organising, moving, unpacking, more organising and getting things set up. So barely any art has been made right now. But a whole world of inspiration is flooding in. And even if the creative juices drain up, all I have to do is take a short walk around the area to be flooded again

I've also been collating and organising roughly 10 years worth of newspaper materials, mainly advertising posters for clubs and bands and other interesting things, and organising fliers I've picked up over the years and been turning them into an organised folder of inspiration. For the last 5-10 years it just sat as a pile in a 20 liter tub, not really doing anything. And to be honest, a lot of my work had just been sitting in tubs, not really doing anything. For a rut of at least 5 years, I struggled to find any real motivation or inspiration. Don't get me wrong, I've created a LOT of art in that time, but honestly no where near as much as I've been capable of. The last 2 years I spent beating myself up about my lack of mass creative output, and THIS year, has largely been to do with making changes and steps to do this.

I started the process of ACTION by finding a new more inspiring environment. A place that can really be mine, and not just a temporary (read 10 years of temporary room filling) room to do work in.

I then transformed my hidden tubs of stored books (in tubs because they've always been in a state of "temporary" storage) and now that I'm in a new place, they all now reside in proper book shelves that I can reference from whenever I need, and not have to worry about reshuffling boxes just so I can get to them.

The books have been shelved, and now the last thing for me to do in this process before the creativity begins, is to turn that 20 liter tub of newspaper clippings, into folders of properly presented, easy to reach inspiration.
I've separated them into piles of A3 posters, A4 posters, DL fliers, post card sized fliers, and smaller card promotions. The A3 pile which was the largest of the lot is about 80-90% done. It's taken probably 4 or 5 days (so 24 hours continuously) to sort it all, and another 6-12 hours just to paste them into pages to slide into folders.
But the sorting and organising feels a lot cleaner, and my mindset now feels cleaner for it too.

I'm really hoping to get this finished by next week so I can get set on the next major plan for this year... ENJOYING the new life

So yes, that's where I'm at, at the moment. The transitioning is nearly complete and I feel there will be a lot of art to come from this. I apologies to myself for not being as creative as I could have been, but I've also forgiven myself for it, and we (me and my brain ) are working together to get our asses back on track
