'Charging Triceratops'

Would you call a Triceratops an animals? for simplicity sake I shall answer "yes"

Sure, dinosaurs may be "for kids" but to some, kid's just will never grow up. I never grew out of loving dinosaurs and i hope not many young kids have either in this day and age

Even though I loved dinosaurs when i was a child... i figured I should atleast include SOME aspect of my maturity in there somewhere. So i decided to create this illustration in a more darker way. It's still for kids, but its also for adults as well!

The main things i tried to focus on here was detail and texture. The light and rendering may be off at some points because i was focusing on trying to get the skin detail as intriquite as possible. However i think I did a pretty good job at keeping the rendering acurate

I discovered, that while cross hatching rendering is very effective for ink work, when combined with lead toning, it gives an extra dimention... and to help add a bit more... tone without having to darken the whole thing, i added a few gradual layers of ink washes as well (and slightly manipulated in photoshop to allow the blacks to become richer)

I'm proud of it, and extreamly happy with the way it turned out i just hope you feel the same way
